It’s Kristine’s birthday today and it’s a lovely day. We organized a little birthday table for her with the gifts Anne had brought from home. Steve and Barbara had picked some wildflowers that fit nicely into a little jug. We still have to get some mangoes as that was Kristine’s birthday wish. Maybe when we go into town later. Betty also picked some flowers from her garden and our girls who take such good care of us brought a present! The temperature is perfect and there’s a wonderful breeze that spreads lovely scents of groundnuts (peanuts) roasting through the study hall of the centre. Ronald and Colin are still sitting here studying physics and economics. They’re getting ready to go back to school and are looking forward to it. They’re in level 6 which is their final year. Earlier there were more secondary students here studying but they’ve likely gone home for lunch now. During the holidays many students use the centre. They study during their holidays! They have much dedication. Ronald and Colin are looking forward to going back to school.
There was a big, long meeting with the local committee today and and I was officially invited to stay longer with the Lubega's, guest of the chief is a very big honour and priviledge. I feel very dignified. Now we've just spent two hours in an internet cafe trying to get everything uptodate but technology isn't as fsat and zippy here. Very frustrating. I kept thinking of Mr Lubega's patience. My computer fixed itself so I got my blogs prewritten. Time is running out and our ride is here.
