Our hotel is perfect. It is situated right in the hub of where many things are, particularly the important tourist areas. I love sitting on the rooftop patio restaurant. The view is spectacular. Right in front of us is the Sultahnament mosque and next to it the Aya Sophya. The whole city is laid out in front of us with the Sea of Marmora on the right and the Bosphorus strait separating Europe and Asia. The other day we had lunch in Europe and dinner in Asia! That was kind of cool. Hearing the call to prayer from here is also cool. You can hear it from a variety of different mosques in the area all a little out of sync but it has a neat effect anyway. I think that if I were Muslim the call to prayer would prompt me to pray. It sounds very enticing. Except maybe the one at 4:30 in the morning. The other night we kept our window open. And at 4:30 the prayer call from the blue mosque blasted into our room. We both jumped out of bed in shock, Rina slammed the window shut, pulled down the blinds and fell over into the chair. After we got our breath back we promptly fell asleep again.
